Casal Ginestre lies in the middle of the woods on the hills around the mediaval town of Narni (at 6 kms). On the property there is a large villa subdivided into 3 units of which 2 are rented out for holidays while the 3rd one is used by the owner. The 2 holiday units have a common porch on the southern side of the building (the owner's one is on the north-western side, so there is enough privacy for everyone). The porch is equipped with tables and chairs, a shield of reeds can be placed for the privacy of the guests. There is also a barbecue at disposition. The villa is encircled by a large fenced garden, partly open ground and partly woods. The 11x5 meter pool lies in a sunny location at around 30 meters from the villa. If the tenants prefers that the pool is used only by them, it is possible to grant  it upon request. Wi-fi internet connection available for free. The nearest supermarket is available in the village of Moricone (4.5 kms), there's also a good restaurant (Da Sara) where it is possible to taste local dishes. There are two more restaurants at 1 and 3 km from the property. In the town of Narni (6 km) there are all the necessary shops.

SOUTHERN/CENTRE UMBRIA

In Umbria, a region that has gained a name for being the green heart of Italy, tourism is growing because of the unfamiliar harmony between nature, antiquities, historic centres and culture. The quiet of the countryside, good provisions and an inimitable cuisine are the great draw. This region is less touristy than Tuscany and this is especially appreciated by many tourists.

Southern/centre Umbria forms an ideal starting point for enjoying the peace of the surrounding hilly and mountainous landscape and on the other hand making trips to beautifull towns like Todi, Orvieto, Narni, Spoleto, Perugia, Gubbio, Assisi. There are also numerous charming little villages – many of medieval origin - as Amelia, Labro, Spello, Norcia, Bevagna, Montefalco to visit. In many towns and villages you can taste local dishes or buy local wines and olive oil (generally of excellent quality). You can also easily visit – in day trips - famous towns and charming villages in the southern part of Tuscany such as Siena, Arezzo, San Giminiano, Pienza, Cortona, Sinalunga, etc. Many tourists visit also Rome from here (without staying in the city which is very hot in summer) once or more times. It is possible to go by car (journey of 1h-1h30) or by train from the stations of: Terni, Narni-Amelia, Orte & Orvieto.

We must not forget the mountains with some splendid woods, e.g. Terminillo (up to 2000 metres by car). In around 1 hour it is possible to reach the shimmering lakes of Bracciano, Vico, Piediluco, Bolsena and Trasimeno. The Mediterranean Sea (mostly sand beaches) situated between Tarquinia and Chiarone are 90-120 Kms away (around 1h20-1h40 driving). Near the city of Terni you can also visit the Marmore falls (165 meters, one of the highest of Europe), there is nearby also a rafting/canoeing/hydrospeed center.
