The village of Bomarzo lies on the border between Umbria and Lazio, 90 kms northern of Rome. It is ideally located to visit Rome, northern Lazio, Umbria and southern Tuscany (the highway Rome - Florence is at 15 min driving). The train station of Attigliano is 9 kms far away, in about 1 hour you are in the centurm of Rome and 2 hours in Florence. The villa was originally (in the 17th century) the stables of the Orsini castle. It is encircled by a large park (10 hectares) where an old hunting tower and an obelisk are still present. There is a 12x6 meters above ground pool (given the historical value is not admitted by the autorithis to build an inground pool), for private use of the tenant. In the garden there are also: hydromassage, ping pong table and table football. There are several places to sit outside. It is possible to eat outdoor on terrace near the kitchen or under the shade of the trees near the large living and dining rooms. On the ground floor there are also two dining rooms, the smallest can accommodate 12 people the biggest 20. The villa has 6 bedrooms for a total of 12 sleeps + baby cot. The location of the property is very quiet and grants privacy to the guests, but at the same time you are only few hundred meters away from the historic center (medieval village) of Bomarzo. Shops and bars 500 meters away, restaurants and pizzeria 1 km away. NOTE: the property is not rented to groups of young people.

ABOUT LAZIO Lazio has a rich historic and natural heritage which, together with a mild and sunny climate for most of the year and a tradition of simple and wholesome food, makes it one of the most interesting regions of Italy. In addition to the magnificent city of Rome we advice to visit the nearby lake of Bracciano, renaissance mansions such as Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola, Villa d'Este in Tivoli without forgetting the Roman ruins of Villa Adriana. The lake of Bracciano has 3 charming villages, Bracciano with the famous Odescalchi Castle, Anguillara and Trevignano (all can be reached by ferry). On the coast we strongly suggest to visit the ancient city of Ostia and it's immense archaeological area (unique in the world). Following the coast in northern direction there are lively places as Santa Severa and Santa Marinella or you can visit Cerveteri and Tarquinia (with the famous Unesco heritage of the Etruscan necropolis). Visit www.visitlazio.com/en/home ,the official website for tourism of the Lazio region, for more information. There are also many theme parks (waterparks, amusement parks....link ) ABOUT SOUTHERN UMBRIA In Umbria, a region that has gained a name for being the green heart of Italy, tourism is growing because of the unfamiliar harmony between nature, antiquities, historic centres and culture. The quiet of the countryside, good provisions and an inimitable cuisine are the great draw. Southern Umbria forms an ideal starting point for enjoying the peace of the surrounding hilly and mountainous landscape and on the other hand making trips to beautifull towns like Todi, Orvieto, Narni, Spoleto. There are also numerous charming little villages to visit – many of medieval origin - as Amelia, Labro, Spello, Norcia, Bevagna, Montefalco. In many towns and villages you can taste local dishes or buy local wines and olive oil (generally of excellent quality). Near the city of Terni you can also visit the Marmore falls (165 meters, one of the highest of Europe), there is nearby also a rafting/canoeing/hydrospeed center. |
